FEE FAQ

I recently hurt myself, what now?

We generally try and see someone as soon as possible after their injury to advise them and start treatment. If you have recently had surgery, your Consultant should advise you on when is best to start your physiotherapy.

How can I pay?

Payment is required at the time of consultation and can be made by cash, cheque, or credit/debit card.

If you have private medical insurance, we are able to bill directly to most major insurers. You need to provide the authorisation details at the time of the appointment, if you are unable to give authorisation at this stage payment will be requested and a receipt given to submit your own claim.

How do I use my private medical insurance?

For peace of mind we suggest  that you check the following with your insurance company:

  • Is there an excess on the policy? i.e. the policy holder has to pay for part of the treatment themselves
  • How much insurance cover is available? e.g. set number of treatments or monetary limit
  • Is the financial assistance provided for physiotherapy treatment alone? Or is it part of an overall sum for specialist services?
  • Is there a time limit for the treatment to take place?

We ask that you bring your authorisation number from your insurer to your initial appointment, failure to do so will require you to pay for that appointment yourself and use our printed invoice to reclaim the cost from your insurer.

If your insurance company does not cover your treatment charges in full any outstanding amount will be due from you as our client.

Do I need a GP referral?

No, a doctor’s referral is not required; however referrals from your doctor or other treating professional are always welcome. Please note that many private medical insurance companies require a doctor’s referral prior to authorising cover under your policy. You should contact your insurer for further information.

How soon can I be seen?

We are usually able to offer same day appointments, however if that does not suit we always aim to provide you with your appointment within 48 hours of request.

What should I wear?

For lower limb problems we suggest, for your comfort, that you bring a pair of shorts with you.

We also kindly ask that ladies with a shoulder or neck problem, please bring a strappy vest top.

If you know that you are going to be working in the gym, we suggest you may wish to bring a change of clothes with you as well as your trainers if you are undergoing gait analysis or personal training. We have a complimentary shower on site should you wish to use it.

OUR INSURANCE REGISTRATIONS

We are registered with most major insurance providers as well as many others.
